what we loved about our events with m&s

We had an amazing time seeing our community come together for 3 great days of food business networking and learning this spring. Thanks to Marks & Spencer, many of you got the chance to get your burning questions answered Speed Mentoring, grow your business at our Food Business Bootcamp and meet industry insiders at Artisans After Hours. Now that summer is finally here, we want to look back and remind ourselves what made these events really special.

1. GETTING FEEDBACK FROM 30 EXPERTS IN ONE NIGHT AT SPEED MENTORING

Our biggest ever Speed Mentoring session was sold out over a week before the event! Producers got to meet our experts and M&S insiders and receive some really helpful feedback. Our Speed Mentoring events are always very fast-paced which makes for a very exciting evening!

WHAT YOU SAID

I recently attended my first Kitchen Table Project mentoring session and can honestly say it was one of the most invigorating and positive networking events I have ever attended and I am not a fan of networking events! With a very wide range of mentoring skills advising on just about every element you could ever wish for, this was a quick way to get a lot of really useful information and make some valuable contacts. Not only was this great fun, it was great for business too.
— Rupert Parsons, Womersley Fruit & Herb Vinegars
The three-minute intense mentoring ensured essential questions were asked and answered, ideas were buzzing and the atmosphere was electric. I would recommend this event to anyone in the food and beverage industry - what a great way to get your name out there and meet like-minded professionals.
— Rachel Wisson, Halo Coco

2. BUILDING A PLAN FOR SUCCESS AT THE FOOD BUSINESS BOOTCAMP

Running a successful food business means wearing many hats - chef, marketer and salesman to name a few. That’s why we worked hard with our experts to squeeze as much information into our one day intensive bootcamp as possible. Whether producers were an established business with years in the industry or just starting out, everyone had something to learn and left with lots of new ideas to grow their business.

WHAT YOU SAID

Being an entrepreneur you sometimes get caught up in the details, rather than seeing the big picture of your business. Hearing the stories and advice from people who have years and decades of experience helped me refocus on what is important.
— Christine Spliid, Crobar

3. WATCHING 4 FANTASTIC PRODUCERS GET IN FRONT OF M&S

We think small independent businesses should have the same opportunities as large corporations to get in front of the multiples. We got one step closer to this goal through the Small Producers Spotlight, a competition for emerging food brands to showcase their products to a panel of M&S expert. We had so many fantastic applications so it was a very tough call but in the end, M&S chose Tickleberries as the winner!

WHAT YOU SAID

My day was complete when I was selected, and won the Small Producers Spotlight. I am really excited by my prize which involved M&S coming to my aronia berry plantations and to have the opportunity to be mentored my M&S experts.
— Andrew Tickle, Tickleberries
KTP Business Bootcamp was a fantastic event offering really well curated speakers to address exactly the kind of issues concerning food start ups at our stage of growth. An amazing bonus was the opportunity to present Little Moons to the Marks and Spencer team
— Howard Wong, Little Moons

. SEEING INNOVATIVE NEW BUSINESSES GET STARTED

At every one of our events we are always surprised by the wide range of innovative products coming out on the market. We love providing these great businesses with a platform to get their names out there.

5. ALL OF YOUR POSITIVE FEEDBACK!

Our mission is to help food businesses grow and it’s great to know that we are doing a good job. At the end of the day, it’s our fantastic community of food founders that makes our events a success. It’s a pleasure to work with so many forward thinking entrepreneurs!

WHAT YOU SAID

Kitchen Table Projects has really been essential to the growth of my business. I think as a new startup and someone new into the industry it’s a minefield and there’s so many areas you have to consider, many that you overlook to begin with and KTP has put me in touch with all the experts in those areas who can advise and help the growth of my business.
— Sophie Lane Fox, A Little Bit Food Co.
